We love all things lego and this is no exception. The day to day bits are cute and easy for my 3&6 yr old to follow and build. I think last years was better as there were a few things this year that were a bit naff.
2 recommendations firstly buy a big base to clip everything on to else you end up with lot of little bits getting lost. Secondly before you throw the box away tear off the doors as these have the building pictures and come in handy next year when you want to rebuild the broken things.

I purchased this advent calendar for my 6 year old daughter, who is a big fan of Lego Friends. It was a massive hit with her, she thoroughly enjoyed getting something new to build and add to her scene every day. There are lots of little pieces so I probably wouldn't recommend it for children under 5. We have previously enjoyed the Playmobile advent calendars, again you have the joy of a little piece to add to your scene each day. Many of the older Playmobile calendars were also reusable (a real bonus), this is not the case with the Lego one, but we have kept all the pieces and added them to my daughters Lego friends collection. Father Christmas was sadly not included in this scene, that probably saddened me more than my daughter. Overall I would say that the calendar was good value for money, definitely a good replacement for a chocolate filled advent.

I was a bit sceptical about this - but it's been a real hit. My two girls (8 and 10) are sharing it ad enjoying it - and both playing with it.
We've never had one before, but the thing I didn't get from the product photos is that all the pieces build towards a scene: the front of the box folds down to make a skating tableau. Then, all the bits add to the play.
I'd definitely think about one next year, at least for the younger one

The 8 year old girl I bought this for loves it, and is really enjoying making the daily item.
My only criticism is that each calendar door is very difficult to open as the stiff card is laminated, and the perforations are really hard to break. We have to help her with this, and even we as adults find it hard to open the doors.

Initially thought this was expensive but daughter has had such fun opening the windows every day and now has a great selection of Lego bits and pieces - although I'm having to be very VERY careful when vacuuming as some of the pieces are so tiny. Also glad I paid attention to the serial number as I could easily have bought the same one as last year by mistake.

Daughter loved it and it was (almost) worth the price for her enjoyment every day leading up to Christmas. But for what you get (tiny bits of Lego each day - worth only a few pence) it's VERY expensive. We won't be buying one again.

Ridiculously expensive, as all Lego is, but my 6 year old granddaughter was very pleased with it. She chose it herself from a wide selection and was completely satisfied with her choice.

daughter delighted to receive this and was on time for school every morning in December due to her excitement at opening this. We bought some fake snow so she could make a Christmas scene with her collection
